About Me

Geshe Lobsang Tsultrim was born in Darjeeling at the foothills of himalaya in the West Bengal state of India. He received his early education at Bahai primary school and at Modern High School in Gangtok, capital of Sikkim state, located in North-east of India.

He then joined Shartse College of Gaden Monastic University in South India, where he received his training as a monk while studying five major fields of Buddhist studies: Buddhist epistemology, Metaphysics, Middle Way philosophy, Buddhist psychology, and Buddhist ethics till age 32. At age 34 he completed his studies and received the Geshe degree.
At the age of 30 while being a student he served as an interpreter for the monastery’s group tour in the United States. After completing his studies, he served the monastery as an archival manager and then again as an interpreter, he accompanied his teachers to South Asian countries.
In 2008 he again travelled with a group of monks to Guelph, Canada to share monastic traditional arts and teachings. In 2009 he moved to Vancouver, Canada and lived there until 2015 and then moved to Guelph where he taught mindfulness and meditation for almost two years. Recently, he has traveled to Japan to share mindfulness and meditation teachings in the community.

For the interest of my students and friends, I will be writing my birth stories on this page soon. You are welcome to post any comments you would like to share with me. - Lobsang Gnonna :)
